Review Policy for Grace’s Book Blog

I love reading. It is one of my favorite pastimes. I have a wide range of interests when it comes to books, so, if you feel I may be interested in your book, please contact me here. This blog is mainly for my book reviews, challenge posts and memes but occasionally you will find a review for a new piece of technology I have bought (I’m a bit of a tech junkie), movie, or really anything.

I will review any book that I receive but because of the amount of books I receive, the review can take anywhere from 1-7 months to be posted. If a book comes with a due date for review, the review will be posted on or before that date as long as I receive the book 1 or 2 weeks before the due date.
I will consider any requests for review. Please don’t be offended if I don’t accept your book. It might not be something I would enjoy. Please continue sending me requests because the next book may be perfect for me.

Will Read: E-books,literary fiction, historical fiction, romances, classics, Jane Austen sequels, some self-help, some political (moderate to liberal only). I will review self published books.  I am not particular about violence or sexuality. Generally, I will read anything. Give it a try you never know what I may like and what I won’t.

Won’t Review: politically conservative books, racist or sexist books, Christian books, any type of religious books, books about the economy or the recession, economics, science, health, math.
When reviewing a book, I will be honest. I rate the book as best reflects my enjoyment and opinion. If is not a book I enjoy to that point that I want to throw it out the window, I will pass it on to my sister whose opinions are usually in direct opposition of mine.

I currently mirror my reviews on Amazon, Barnes and Noble, Alibris, and LibraryThing.

Dos-send me requests for review, check out my blog to see if you would like your book featured here, sign the book—it makes me happy, set up author guest blogs and tours.

Don’t­-

1. If you don’t like the way I rated your book, use the Contact Me form in the header to email me. Do not use comments to yell at me. The comment will be deleted and I will email you and I am not so nice when I have just been yelled at.

2. Do not tell me what to rate the book on Amazon. I will rate the book based on my opinion of the book. It makes me disinclined to review the book and compromises my integrity. I appreciate the review copy but I if I am reviewing a book I will rate it honestly both here and on Amazon. If you have a problem with this, I will send you a copy of this policy.

3. I don’t mind reminder emails if they are done in a friendly manner but if they are rude, I will stop reading the book.

Other than these three gripes, I am a friendly person who loves to read and review books. Just don’t do these three things

Updates:

#1-I have decided that I want to expand my blog to include product reviews and features. I love my books but I think adding product reviews would add a new range to Grace’s Book Blog and I also love doing giveaways so this will open the door for more of them. I also like writing product reviews, so, it’s beneficial for all. Most of these product reviews will have been purchased but if anyone wants to send me a product for review (I still have more teas to review), here are my likes and dislikes:

Will Review-Food (I’m a sweets addict), Drink (Teas and Coffees are my favorites), Gadgets and tech (I’m a secret computer geek, so, any gadget will likely send me to heaven), Jewelry(I’m an Etsy addict),  Novelties, Book related products, Art supplies, some clothing items (shoes, purses stuff like that).

#2-I have opened up an Amazon Associates account. I am not really looking to make money from this blog. I think having my own space to mess around online is enough. I also like how it makes finding the books I review more convenient to find on Amazon and helps promote the books and authors even more.  The pictures of the cover will link directly to the Amazon page.
